Wee Jasper Station is a 5000-acre working sheep station in the Wee Jasper Valley, at the foothills of the Brindabella Ranges, southern New South Wales. Owned by the Barber family, who have lived in the area for almost 150 years, the station now also provides unique accommodation in the traditional Shearers’ Quarters and Jackaroo’s Cottage. Just over an hour from Canberra, Yass or Tumut or four hours from Sydney, Wee Jasper Station is in the heart of Capital Country. Your accommodation is rustic and rural – with all the character of farming life. It is suitable for just about anyone, from individuals to families, corporate or school groups. The Wee Jasper valley is a unique landscape with stunning limestone formations amongst beautiful rolling green farmland and superb natural bushland. The Station is bordered by the majestic Goodradigbee River and is close to wild caves and the Hume and Hovell Walking Track.
Wee Jasper Station's traditional Shearers' Quarters are the perfect spot for a group of up to 34 people to stay in bunk-style accommodation. It’s a great venue for family get-togethers, training adventures or school groups. There is a fully self-contained kitchen including a large commercial stoven/oven, a microwave and plenty of fridge space. There is a slow combustion fireplace in the lounge room. The outdoor fireplace is a popular gathering spot. Sufficient firewood for inside is provided, extra can be arranged. There are 2 toilets, 3 showers. No linen is provided. Yards or stables for horses can be arranged for an extra fee. Cost $12.00 per night per person. Minimum cost $180.00 per night (whichever is greater). If Shearers' Quarters are full to capacity camping is $6.00 per person per night, otherwise $12.00 per night.
Wee Jasper is located just over 1 hour from Tumut, Yass or Canberra. It's a great alternative stopover between Sydney and Melbourne being just over an hour from the Hume Highway. Wee Jasper is well known for its unique landscape and combination of open grazing land and spectacular wild bush country. Bring your own horse to Wee Jasper Station and take advantage of the numerous horse trails. Trail bikes are also welcome on some areas of the property. Wee Jasper Station is close to various State forests, is on the banks of the Goodradigbee River and only a short distance from wild caves and the Hume and Hovell Walking Track. You can fish, swim, ride, play or relax, it's up to you.
