consolidated information about where we could ride. So we decided to find out
as many places as possible and give them all a go. The results of our findings
may pleasantly surprise you. Trail bike riding is one on the most social and
friendly sports we have found and the owners of all places we have been to have
all been extremely warm, friendly and helpful. Click on the links to
find out more of each park. As yet, we have yet to visit a park we didn't like and the way
we are going we may never do so. What we have found though is that different
parks do things in different ways. This page is about listing the great ideas
that we have found so that park owners can share thoughts and ideas.
Public
Liability Disclaimer:
A PL disclaimer is important and all riders should sign. Some
more thoughts to come, including some samples hopefully once I have spoken to
our insurance agent and solicitor for some input.
Curfew:
Most parks have a curfew, usually something like 7:00 AM to
dusk. It is a good idea to have the curfew in writing as part of the "Terms
and Conditions of Entry" that all riders must sign. This ensure that no
rider is ignorant of the conditions, accepts responsibility for complying with
the conditions and makes it easier to evict anyone if needed.
Bike Only
Weekends/No Bike Weekends:
Many parks accommodate other activities other than motorbike
and 4WD. Sometime these can be in conflict. To ensure the best possible use of
the park whilst still maintaining best numbers, perhaps holding times set aside
for certain activities will ensure that everyone is accommodated. For example,
the Easter break is set aside for motorbikes and 4WDs and the Christmas break
set aside for those looking for a quiet getaway. Naturally all times and dates
should be well publicised in advance. |
